Alright, posting exactly 7 days after.

Hey people! We're back from camp! I believe God had spoke to many of us whether by Spirit or in Truth. For myself, one of my objective was to allow the overwhelming flow of the Spirit to increase in the Fruit of the Spirit, thus letting it teach me things beyond my own understanding.

And its met! I sincerely wanna encourage those who's camp objective not met, not to be discouraged. Because its a sign that we need to grow already! Stepping out of our own comfort zone to pray and ask the Spirit to work in our hearts! Here's one wallpaper with a verse on, very useful!

FOTS (Part III)

FAITHFULNESS
1. Be faithful not only in the outward action, but also in the heart attitude
2. I always thought being faithful to God means doing the things God tells us to do or to be faithful in handling the resources God has given to us. This lesson reminded me I need to be faithful in ths relationship with God. I cannot backslide whenever I feel like it. it's like being faithful to your spouse.

GENTLENESS
1. Reading the bible only does not help us be gentle. we need to ask the Holy Spirit to help us be gentle.
2. Leo says: Only the weak are cruel; gentleness can only be expected from the strong. gentleness is not equals to sissy. (Louis, u are gentle)

SELF-CONTROL
1. we can sin because it's inevitable. but we cannot keep a lifestyle of sin.
2. self-control is only possible through a God-controlled life/a Spirit-controlled life.

To sum up: I think the thing that impacted me the most is: all the parts of the FOTS are possible only when we first admit that we cannot have them by our own power, and ask God to help us.

Heys! Firstly, hail to the speakers for today! Haha!!

Hmm, Rui Yong, good work that today you weren't so nervous haha! God rewards hardwork yup? And I will post my application for gentleness later, haha!! Oh!! I love the quotes, haha though some I don't really understand lol.

Oh yeah, BK, hmm... No offense and definitely not personal attack but you sounded like you were talking to yourself, a bit fast and a bit soft also. Hmm, certain sentences you said it your way, so it sort of sounded like you were talking to yourself. Hmm I think one way is to get others to listen to you and give you feedback. Another possible solution is to record what you said and replay it to see how you can improve. May sound stupid but does work cause I did it for my PW!!! Lol! But anyways, God rewards hard work and He sees your efforts. Improve for God yup? :D

Hmm.. Going to only post on Gentleness cause if I try to read and apply for many teachings at the same time, I'll be overly stressed. Lol. Ok.

Ok, here are my application points:

Because you see, because behind every struggle or circumstance there's an issue, like insecurity etc. So, that was my application, to identify my issues, solve it and move on!! HAHA!

God's Faithfulness

how true it is that God is always faithful to us.
And i have experienced the fullness of His faithfulness during my O levels period this year.

it was a hectic period for me.
cause i had papers everyday for 2 weeks.
and thursdays (the day after cg day) were the days of my nightmare papers.
so during week one of the BIG FAT Os, i had a geography paper on thursday, and i have not studied for it at all. and i also had to go for caregroup. at first, i was not so keen on going, but this was based on my feelings. so i made the decision to go. and just nice, that day was my mom's birthday as well. so obviously i had no time to study for my paper. i was quite anxious about it but i just decided to let go and let God. so eventually, i reached hom e at 11pm that night after having dinner with my family and i was just too tired to study and i just went to sleep without studying. so i just prayed to God and thank God, the paper was doable. i managed to read up a few chapters but i know that it was God's faithfulness upon me.

so, the following week i was very anxious about my Food and Nutrition paper cause there was a lot to study and it was something i had to score in. and it was also on a thursday. and that week, i was in charge of planning Care Group, which took time, and also attending the care group which was on a wednesday. And once again, i had no time to study at all. so on my way to school, i studied a bit in the morning, and i just kept praying and praying and praying in my heart to God to just help me get through this paper. And God really showed His faithfulness. the paper was on everything i studied.

well, this post isn't about me being lucky to have studied things which came out, but it's to testify God's faithfulness in my life through my toughest times. Even though during the months prior to O levels and the month of O levels itself i sorta lost focus from God, God was still faithful to me. Since God can be faithful to us imperfect beings, the more we should be faithful to Him.

Overall, this WFL is something i really needed to spruce up my spiritual life. I have learnt so much from shuzhen, ruiyong and brandon. And there are really many things i learnt from this course which i can apply to me life.

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control.

okay.
i dun really know how to start
but i must say that i've learnt quite a lot from "fruit of the spirit"
hmm. i think i'm a person who panicks quite easily, so the lesson on peace kinda helped me.
it's inevitable for us to face tough situations that make us anxious or worried.
but it's essential for us to remember that God is actually in control of our lives. although we may not understand or know why things are happening, we can have peace becoz we know God is in charge and he has the best plans for us.all we need to do is to allow him to take control and not try to do things our own way. i think this is extremely important becoz we can only truely experience authentic peace when we're walking right with God and have the faith that he would not test us beyond what we can bear. always pray when we know that we can't handle things alone with just human effort.
and i also learnt that we should always give thanks to the Lord in all circumstances and trust that he knows what he is doing in our lives and everything happens for a reason,it may be a test of faith or basically something that can help us grow stronger in Christ.
In this way, we can let go of our anxiety and experience God's peace. (:

Now nidda decipher what i wrote...Really can't understand my own handwriting...

0.0...Faithfulness =D....
Faithfulness, a word quite commonly used in our society to describe the commitment bond between people and stuffs...Hmm...Which areas in our life which we r not so faithful in ??Really gotta work on it <.<...Though its hard to take faith in things or people when the circumstances is not really going that well for us,however,though everything or even the whole world is not in ur favour, we can still take faith cuz our God is FAITHFUL,always and forever =D...God is always here wif us...in good or bad times..God dun pangseh <.<...God dun lie...But its just a matter of our Heart condition,whether we wanna let him in or not...Another i learnt...Our faith cannot be based on feelings and perceptions, we cannot let our heart have e final say in our lives...Its not 100% accurate <.<....Instead lets all let Word of God have the final say in our lives...=D
Also...Do things with the correct motives...Faithfulness DOES NOT equate to Actions done...No point doing w/o the correct motives in our heart =D...God is faithful in all our lives , rain or shine...Therefore lets all be faithful to God and other stuffs in or lives as well =D

Gentleness....LOL...my concept of it was exactly the same as ruiyong sia...haha...But still...Learnt alot from him =D...
Gentleness is the ability to have sumting powerful under control and to sooth feelings and circumstances etc etc...Also,gentleness is bout Me , God and People around me...God is a humane God...He sent Jesus to die on the Earth to show to us that he really cares...and he really understands...He is always with us...Treats us as His child...Not as a slave or tool for his usage...However sumtimes when we're being pruned,it feels this way...That we're being used...But God is trying to help us grow instead...Also learnt to be sensitive to Holy Spirit..WE nid the Holy Spirit to guild us how to go about the Fruit of The Spirit =D
God is our comforter...He comforts us in all things, he is always there for us...We're created cuz of his love...But r we gentle to ourselves ? Are we able to take things easy or understand yourself? God is so gentle to us...However are we also gentle to others?Probably we'll have wronged sum1 be4...But the key is whether are we able to reconcile with them again...We've to...as child of God,serve our purpose of our creation...Be gentle and Loving...

Self-control...Probably alot of us will have problem in this...many things we fail to exercise self control...We all have struggle with sins,Therefore we nid self control over it...Sin = Cancer...It nids to be stopped ASAP be4 it spread throughout and causes drastic effects...Our nature = Sin...Only holy spirit can overcome us...Therefore we nidda noe who we let in control of our lives...Sin or Holy Spirit...Love that illustration bout e 2 wolfs...That the 1 which will win is the 1 we choose to feed...We cannot control sin on our own, we're incapable of that...We've gotta make a choice, Sin or Holy Spirit...We nidda control our Sin by committing all to God...Also not have a lifestyle of Sin...Many biblical characters also sinned...But repented, and dun hang unto that kinda lifestyle...Another thing that struck mi is that...Many times we get tempted to sin,and eventually sinned...We always seem to blame the temptations ( Eg; the etc etc ),however its also OUR decision to sin by leading ourselves into the temptations...Fix our eyes on Christ ( Hebrews 12:1-4), Look to God, He understands =D...Holyness is also not Perfection...Its to be sin-conscious...having a repentant heart...Letting God use u , when we live righteously in God's eye...he will use...Also we've to grow more and more Christ-Like =D

i have finally remembered to blog.
and it's like... 40 mins b4 class is supposed to start.
so just a short one...

God really tested my patience yesterday.
because, firstly, i woke up at 1020 when i was supposed to wake up at 930 so i rushed rushed rushed so i could fulfill my agenda.

my first stop:
i had to go someone's house to pick up something, so i had to take a cab.
what happened was, this lady cut in front of me and usually i will be quite irritated and impatient but i decided to just let it go.
so, when i got into the cab, i went to my destination i got my things done.
den i told the cab driver to go to serangoon ave 3 but instead he brought me to serangoon NORTH ave 3 instead. it was a waste of time and money and i was already in a rush and he brought me to the wrong place. i wanted to sacold him but instead, i prayed to God for patience and yes, God blessed me.

i really think that there is so much we can apply from what we have learned so far from this course.

gta rush off for our last WFL class. Excited to learn about self-control! seeya!

Hey guys, there was a previous post but somehow or somewhat, it didn't appear anywhere on the blog! So i had to write everything again.

Basically, Word For Life's lessons are surely the work of God and the learning of the core for many important principles in life. And I really thank God for the brothers and sisters leading us in these lessons, do u guys think so too!?

What I wanna dive into is this lesson upon JOY, it is the second fruit prior to LOVE.
Joy is also one of the fruit that had a lot to do with feelings, thus we must control it and not be emotional and allow the wrong joy to take over the true JOY, God never fails!!

In this world many desires are driven by sin thus many people will not be happy.

Therefore, to us Christian, real JOY should mean something else. Through this lesson, I had learned about self-centered joy, forced joy, ignorant joy and true JOY.

Self-centered joy explains itself, materialism, selfish desires and the priority of own self first in every competition.

Forced joy is basically unwanted joy in our life, like making a decision against the real JOY by not going to care group or service thinking we would be happier by doing so, or by mixing around with people against we do not like.

Ignorant joy, when people think they can be happy by being ignorant and simple.

True JOY, the one that seperate itself from the rest, as it is experienced with Jesus and His family. It is every much a decided-JOY, because we can decide to be happy or not in this family of Jesus.

Remember the song, "With Christ in the vessel, we can smile at the storm." ?
People might call us naive in certain situations, but remember it is only because we found true joy and security in Christ.

day 2 of wfl was great.really learnt more and more things each day.wanna say tt rui yong really taught very well bringin across many egs and concepts tt can be applied daily.hm yah

Patience
What is the scale of ur patience?
What is ur wildest dream for God?
you must know what ur bulldozin towards.if not, u'll tend to fall away from God.If you want to serve in this ministry for the longhaul, you need to pray for patience to peservere on. God never gives up on me and he wants to make u as patient as he is.We must realise and confess our inadequacy to do it alone.when u r near the end of patience,we mustnt blow up but instead prat for more of God's patience to come into our life.Ask God for a loving and understanding heart.remember not to jump into conclusions but ask in an understandin manner.EXERCISE PATIENCE BEYOND OUR UNDERSTANDING!our impatience is a lack of trust in our maker.at times,we admit we dont understand God's actions but we can ask the holy spirit to affirm us in trusting God's wisdom.God's wisedom is greater than any worldly wisdom.We also must be patient with ppl's growth.remind them with sms or calls and help one another.active patience is praying and helpin out the person as well.in every situation,God wants us to be patient.God is not there to ruin our life.God is waiting for disciples and not converts.hold onto ur dreams for God.ask God to bring you the furthest he can.
when i prayed, i asked God to give me more of his patience and God tested me if i was willing to learn on thurs.i waitin at bus interchange in the mornin for my SB and we was supposed to meet at 830am.but she just woke up when i called her.so i exercised my patience.i continually reflected on this lesson as i waited.the holy spirit prompted me tt if ur patience is wearing out,pray for God's patience to fill you.and i did.so i managed to be patient and learn this lesson more effectively.haha

Kindness
what kind thing have you done recently?
God has a plan for everyone and he is kind enough to involve us.so we want to excel in God's kindness.To be kind, is to be truthful. It's a form of respect to ourselves and others. Sometimes its our heart motive.Is it the benefit of us or the person? Dont be deceitful especially to ourselves.Gossip and Slander may happen in the church therefore,there may be a lack of unity.So we must prevent this by being truthful. Christianity is about life transformation.So we must testify God's name. Patience takes time. God is powerful, almighty and slow to anger. But we're quite easily angered. We need to be able to control this.The whole Bible is about Love and not scolding.We're emotional beings but we dont need to be emotional.Ask god to control our thoughts and replace it with kindness.Being truthful to God is most important, he is the ultimate provider and forgiver.CONSTANT KINDNESS CAN ACCOMPLISH MUCH AS THE SUN MAKES ICE MELTS.KINDNESS CAUSES MISUNDERSTANDING, MISTRUST AND HOSTILITY TO EVAPORATE.The selfless act shown by the Italian bobsled team towards the British team proved that he wanted to buid the people up.We want to build people up through acts of kindness.When people are outstanding, are we jealous? This links to Discipleship and can be a struggle to leaders when their sheeps surpass them.But you want people to succeed and it's all about letting people take over us.Choose God's desire which is to lead with him.Without Love we cant be kind.We cant be kind without being compassionate. Compassion brings kindness.We only can get compassion when we get into the field.With kindness we can forgive and there's no one too difficult to forgive.Kindness is a decision. Nothing on earth deserve more than ordinary kindness and we shouldnt have fake kindness.It's easy to show kindness to people we dont know.But kindness is tested when you've no obligation towards someone.Kindess can be best illustrated by King David towards Saul's son.

Goodness
Real goodness is God's centred.Where is the real goodness?Your actions and your behaviour must be God centred and recognise God.WITHOUT KINDESS GOODNESS IS SELF RIGHTEOUS.WITHOUT GOODNESS KINDNESS IS TOLERANCE.Goodness is outward, kindness is inward (soft spot).Kindness and goodness must coexist.Pray and ask God to give us kindness.Remember to look at the world through God's eyes,not men's.Apart from him, we're no good. God invented goodness and he is the one who defines it.Learn from those who display God's goodness in their life.When a person does wrong to you, do what's right to them. Jesus did his father's will even though his disciples left him.He did God's will above his own.We overcome people's meanness by displaying God's goodness to them.We must continually remember that we have no rights at all.Sieve out objectively God's will and that way we can learn how to handle criticism objectively.We follow our leaders because they display Christ-likedness.God will test our character.Three different ways that we can feel about doing good : 1. It is possible to know what is good without doing it. 2. It is possible to do what is good without being good. 3.It is possible to live life being conflicted between good and evil.Sometimes we know what is good but it's hard to do it. But God still wants us to be like Jesus.He provides us with his grace and mercy. And we must value obedience to God than to ourselves.God created us in his image.Remember to make our motive and heart attitude right. When you're desperate, you're creative. FAITH AND COURAGE COMES IN TIMES OF INADEQUANCY AND WEAKNESS.

i think one thing that really hit me hard about the whole wfl course is the simple fact that God is so interested in our daily growth. He is a God who is very detailed in planning the environment and community suitable for our growth. thank God for that!

Not only that, i also managed to learn that kindness actually leads to truth. being truthful to people especially our brothers and sisters, of coure tactfully, is really a great showcase of kindness.

Lastly, i wanna thank Shuz and gang for their annointing throughout the whole course :)

some thing that really struck me on thurs' lesson was that God wants to make me patient as he is.
many a times, being impatient and always having high expectations of myself, i wld get really frustrated when i don't grow in certain areas; keep commiting the same mistakes etc. but i got reminded that that's what God's grace and strength is for. God will graciously forgives us and He will strengthen us to overcome our challenges. and most imptly, throughout the whole period, God is very very very patient with us. therefore, we ought to be patient with ourselves as well.

Patience.

How did God find you?
a question that struck me big time.
It's just amazing to find out how the Almighty God is such a powerful One who is slow to anger yet quick to forgive us. Patience is something impossible to grasp on our own ability. Even when we achieve a certain level of patience, someday we may be slowly drained out if we do not continually pray for more patience. And indeed, a patient person seeks for love and care. Thus, we must also be patient with our fellow brothers and sisters' growth and help that in that area because every individual is wired up differently. Sometimes we can get impatient with our own growth, others' punctuality or even when we don't get the things we longed for. However, our impatience only shows that we do not trust God enough.

Personally, i do have a wild dream for God too!
Something i hope to see myself doing for God in near future. Though it may not seem like i'm anywhere near that dream, i'll never ever give up in waiting for this dream to be realised for the Kingdom of God grows from glory to glory! :D

Kindness.
Interestingly, i've found out more than i've ever knew about the definition to kindness.
-To be kind is to be truthful as it is a form of respect.
-Kindness is manifested out of love
-compassion is the capacity to feel how others feel and showing it in action.
i always thought that to be kind is not to hurt others' feelings, kindness can be showed by anyone without love and compassion is just a feeling. But no, i was wrong.

Just like Jesus came to Earth and saw the people who lives in sin, felt compassionate towards the people's ignorance and stubbornness and then, gave His life to cleanse us of our sins so that we can die to ourselves and live again. that's how much God's kindness weigh, far beyond our human knowledge.

Goodness.
I also like how these phrases go;
without kindness, goodness is just self-righteousness.
without goodness, kindness is just tolerance.
And both kindness and goodness must come hand-in-hand!
Two of the points that i want to apply would be: 1. Pray for the people who are lost, look at the world through God's eyes. 2. Actively replace evil with good by sharing the gospel!
God invented goodness so only He has the right to judge goodness. So what for pick on the flaws of others! hahas. :D

let's die to ourselves and live anew in Christ by His spirit! ^^

Hello there im Linus from SAJC finally learnt how to blog something...
There are many things that I have picked up from the course so far, learning about patience, love, peace in a wise Christian perspective. It's great to relate issues using a Christian perspective, or WWJD, and it is really intruiging to discover that the Christian view of things and the world's view of things are quite different! One of the best examples would be the principle of LOVE. To many not of the faith, the word love tends to convey an arbitrary sense of attachment between a boy and a girl, or simply BGR. This meaning is so greatly exploited such that people most often associate love with this BGR meaning. This kinda falls short of the Christian definition of love, which is God's commandment to us- " love your neighbour". This commandment of love tells us that love does not merely mean BGR, but rather it means a sense of feeling and compassion for everyone around us, Christian and non-Christian alike. Christians shd love the people of the world so much, that they feel burdened to the unsaved souls around, and thus wanting to save them. This sorta lov is everlasting and filled with good intent... quite different from the other definitions of love as explained in the dictionary i checked.
Matthew 7: 17-18 explains that jus as a good tree wld bear good fruit, a good Christian, filled with the spirit shd thus bear good fruit as well. Many may ask how to tell if someone is filled with the spirit, or how resounding is the holy spirit in that person. Well, personally I would think that it is not really from the number of spiritual gifts the person has, or how good can he speak in tongues. Rather, it is from these attributes as mentioned in Galatians 5:22 : love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control that distinguishes in someone is truly immersed wif the spirit or not. This makes the WFL course even more impt as we shd be growing in these areas, prompted by our holy spirit. So pay attention today!

Love is the basis of every aspect of the fruits. I start to rely on God even on the smallest things like during work, with people and more. Love does take a price.

Joy
I have learnt to be joyful in every circumstance whether good or bad because i can be joyious for God is with me all the time.

Peace
Peace comes from trust, well i agree with this sentence. Sometimes we do not know why god put us in certain situations and we do not have the peace. I learnt to trust in God more because His plan is never to harm us but the mould us. God put us in situations that will benefit the kingdom of god.

Patience
I always thought i have a very long tempered but i found out that well i am only patience in certain areas. Through this lesson i have been more alert to my patience level and trying to overcome it with God and i learnt that active patience is to praying and yeah thats for patience.

Kindness
I would never thought that kindness actually links to truthfulness. At times when we keep most of the unhappy things to ourself and try to be kind to the person who are having grudges then it would just make us Hypocrites. Christ Followers and non-believers have this big difference which i felt. Christ followers would tell you what they do not like and help you to change. A non-believer would say bad things about you and not telling your fault thus you do not know which area to change in.
Real kindness is tested when there is no obligation to be kind to the person.
To be kind to someone we must have compassion for the person and help the person to change.

Goodness
Goodness is god-centre meaning to place God as our priorty when we does things. Goodness is shown through actions. Kindness and Goodness work hand in hand. One word for goodness is Obediance which i lack in.

Everything can be asked from god because none of us are perfect and we all need God's power and strength.

At the WFL yesterday.. I was awfully stunned at the question when Shuzhen actually asked "What's ur wildest dream for God??"
It dawned on me again. What is MY wildest dream for God!?
Did i miss out on the fact that our God is a BIG God?
Or am i just afraid to put my trust in God who has always been our faithful provider?
Before i slept yesterday i continued thinking...thinking.... and still thinking...
(i have a brain and my brain's working ok bryan)
And other than the part about playing pool with God in Heaven when Jesus comes back,
i realised i had never really thought of accomplishing anything BIG in God's kingdom.
And God was ever faithful.
What more can we do than to be faithful trusters in God for our wildest dreams! =)

Kindness and Goodness.
I took a day to observe the strangers around me.
Not that i too much time ar!
But it's quite cool to observe(not stare!) people and instantly conclude that how holy the fruit of the spirit is.
We're all sinners and we really can place ourselves nowhere near to the standard of God's kindness and goodness!
It really pains to see people jostle and instantly spouts flower languages when someone blocks the way unintentionally.
If we know we need to grow in this area, then i guess the best is to constantly bear God's goodness in our minds and hearts.
Keep on running in this race of faith with God!
Hang on to His promises.
Win people for His kingdom.
Build people up with ur words, actions and support!

Make our lives purposeful!
Let's shine for the Kingdom of God!
Never disconnect from God!

hello! :D
although this is quite a late post, but yeah.. still wanna share! (: hahah, rly thank God for shuzhen and rui yong! believe God used them to speak to many of us! learn alot.

Patience
many a times, we get impatient with the things arnd us.. little things like waiting for the lift, traffic light to turn green, wiating for people. and even when people talk too much or dont catch whad u say. hahah.. but God wants us to be patient, as He is, with Him & with circumstances. patience can be worked on, as we realise our inadequacy and confess to God. we can ask God for a loving & understanding heart to be patient. at times, we have to admit that we dont know whad God is doing, yet we trust the Holy Spirit to assure us of God's wisdom. and God's not here to ruin our life, but to help us become Christ-like! He's not asking for converts, but disciples. let's dream FOR God! dream the wildest dream, and keep it alive. The KOG will grow from glory to glory! :D

Kindness
at first, i thought kindness was things like to help old lady cross road.. etc. haha, but iwas so wrong. to be kind is also to be truthful.. not to fakefake and pretend to be a nice person. because God looks at our hearts. to be kind is also to be sincere. we're being kind not because we HAVE to, or MUST be. but who we are today is because of God's kindness. like whad shuzhen quoted, "as the sun makes eyes melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust & hostility to evaporate." (: kindness is also linked to compassion, to be able to feel what others feel, and do sth abt it! compassion brings kindness, and kindness bring forgiveness. there's no one on Earth too difficult to forgive. lastly, kindness is a decision.

Goodness
whad is goodness? real goodness is GOD-CENTRED. (: kindness & goodness go ahnd in hand, without kindness, goodness is just self-righteous, and without goodness, kindness is just tolerance. God invented goodness, HE defines it. apart from Him, we're not good.. who are we to judge others and say they're bad? haha.. & 1 thing i find very powerful.. when people do bad to u, do good to them! dont have " an eye for an eye " :D like how Jesus died on e cross, He did His father's will, putting it above His own. God's so good that we want to commit our lives to seve Him, amen? (: because we cant thank Him by giving Him money, or gifts.. because all these things do not belong to us as well, we serve Him out of out gratefulness to our good God! :D

let's apply what we learnt - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness & goodness!
let's grow to be more & more like Jesus! xD
cant wait for the next lesson! && camp is coming! yeyy! hahaha!

WFL yesterday was truly great as it helped me to see even more of my own weak areas in life where i've never noticed and the lessons enabled me some solutions to the personal problems that i'm facing at the moment. Thank God for the teachers yesterday :) Rei yong[is that how you spell it?] really shown me the immense faith and courage that he has and even though it was his first time sharing to so many people, it was really interesting and he even went through the trouble to search for stories from the news so that we may learn from such daily examples. Thank you :)

yea! the teachings for yesterday: Patience,kindness and goodness!

Patience: i thought Patience is just..well patience lor. haha. but yesterday's lesson showed me there's so much more meaning to patience. A patient person seeks to understand, to ask and love. An impatient person whereas shows the lack of trust he/she has in our maker. I can get very impatient with whoever is late and even took their time. i have very little empathy for such people. wher hur hur. At times too, if i dont get the things i want, i can get rather impatient too and i go 'why why why?!?!' But we have to understand that even at times we may not know what God is doing, we must be patient, and trust that everything he does is always for our benefit. Amen! :)

Kindness: To be kind is to be truthful. Whoa. This very sentence itself has a very big impact on me. And i thought kindness was just about showing care. well yea, come to think of it, it's true isn't it? To lie, is as good as backstabbing to me personally. talking about backstabbing, it reminded me of the personal experience that Rei Yong shared. Hypocrites! Before he shared about the story, i didnt really think of hypocrites as a hazard or anything. And after listening, his story is really scary! imagine surrounded by hypocrites all around daily in school. meh, i rather die. having a group of friends who take turns to back stab one another? but after listening, i found that i myself is a hypocrite at times too, coz sometimes i too pretend to be friends with certain people and tend to hide my feelings from others[ and i thought that was being KIND! rofl].

'If we are kind to one another and that kindness is genuine,then there are very little things in the world that cannot be solved.'

Goodness- without Goodness, kindness is just tolerance. I too, thought Goodness and kindness are the same meaning. but now i've learnt that Goodness is a active thing, unlike kindness, which is more of a inside concern[hope i got it right, if not someone please correct me] Goodness comes with obedience too, for God wants us to us to be Christ like :) so then, we must value obedience from God above ourselves:)

haha...didnt blog for mon cos dunno how to =D

Today,I was tested on my patience even before I entered nexus auditorium,however,I didn't pass(put it in a nicer way).

I wasn't in the best of mood today when I arrived at nexus. Along the way from the mrt to nexus,there were this two adult working males who were so impatient. It was raining and obviously people would tend to be cautious in their steps so they will tend to walk slower. These two males were talking in loud voices that the girls in front(which was my group) were walking very slowly. They said,"walao, in front de walk so slow,faster la..." I was sort of angry at them for not being understanding.

We were using umbrellas and it was sort of inconvenient when we were walking at the narrow way as we had to reopen the umbrellas. This time, one of them actually said, "the umbrella almost hit me sia" in a very angry tone. I was thinking "huh? it's almost hit you leh,it didn't hit you so do you have to be so angry?"

And the very next thing he said was,"walao they walk so slow I feel like slapping them sia..." So I became intolerant and said in my loudest voice,"Behind got two ungentle men so walk faster pls."
It was purposely for them to hear. o.o

During the lesson,God reminded me of his patience. So patient............wait long oso no problem..........so slow to anger.At the same time,he reminded me of my act just now,how quick I was to anger instead of forgiveness.

Although every time it's just so tempting and shiok to do the things that are wrong but Jesus demonstrated all aspects of the fruit of the spirit in his life. Jesus went all the way even though people were so unkind to him. They beat him up and persecuted him when he was going to the cross,furthermore,to die for them. His DMM deserted him,but he just went. He forgave them, he was just so slow to anger.

At first I was like,must be patient and forgive so guo fen de ppl who said they feel like slapping you ar?There is nobody too hard to forgive on this earth (:

Patience - Makrothumia ( long- temper )
Does anyone of us have a problem with our short-temper? believe many have including myself. something that its just so difficult to tame. Hence, God always tests us in our patience in our daily life. eg. waiting for people, traffic light, talking to our parents, dealing with our people's problems.. etc.. Believe in all this situations having patience is not easy but being patient is what God is and He longs for us to be like Him. So let's exercise patience cause its gonna benefit us in the long run. ^^ instead of just telling people why don't let's do active patience as well, taking the initiative to pray for others or even ourself that they'd change in their area that's nt gonna make you impatient as well as to pray for ourself to have more patience in our life. Whatever circumstances we may be in, let's be patience to wait upon God & even in the bible when john was beheaded & though Jesus was sad, Jesus didn't ignore the people bt still He had patience & compassionate to the people. Thus, as God has been patient to us, let's be patient to others as well. >.<

Kindness
What is 1 kind act ya've done to others? Believe all of us have done at least 1 act regardless its on purpose or subconciously. Jesus had kindness to everyone be it the just or unjust coz He's kindness had no limits. sometimes there's a difference between obligation & kindness. think about it. ' taking care of your parents when ya grow up & taking care of the old people in the home '. there's a diff in it right? Kindness in itself is manifested through love, only when we love people we'd do kindness to others. As child of God, its not how well or how good we are but its more about how do we react during situations & circumstances. As God is slow to anger, let's nt be quick to pinpoint on others but rather intercede first. Amen?

Goodness -Agathosune
Real goodness is God-centered. Goodness in itself is a action word. What's impt is that kindness & goodness is self-compliment. ' Without kindness, goodness is tolerance. Without goodness, kindness is self-righteous. ' Let's look at people not with judgemental thinking but through the eyes of our Lord. ( our spiritual eyes. )

How we can do good, there's 3 things we needa know:

1. It is possible to know what's good without doing it.
2. It is possible to do what is good without being good.
3. It is possible to live life conflicted between good & evil.

We know that we're all created & made in God's image thus because God is good, we can be good as well. So let's make a decision to be & to do good. ^^

dun fake kindness in a way that dun show kindness for the sake that u dun want to hurt anyone .. but we have to correct them according to the bible ..
dun think becoz we will hurt them thats why we dun change them ..

hey i'm here to blog!

Today's lesson on patience certainly brought back and refreshed many things that i have forgotten over time. Personally, i get very impatient and edgy when people don’t follow what was planned, e.g. not coming for caregroup meetings suddenly, gatherings etc. With that, I get a bit agitated when ppl try to explain things to me. And guess what? 90% of the time, I get really pissed off at simply ANY reason that they give. I trust im not alone in this. A hot-headed condition impedes everything, even love and compassion that is supposed to be exemplified in every ministry of God.

Suzhen mentioned, “a patient person seeks to love and understand people.” Many a times I fall into short-temperedness, pointing out mistakes too quickly. I may say I love them and I want them to learn from their mistakes, but I believe having the wrong spirit and attitude spoils everything. On top of that, as people of God, we need to exercise patience beyond our understanding of the situation. This shall be a major refreshment learning point for me.

An over-objective mindset misses the whole point of God’s ministries-- His love.

ok next-- Kindness.
shall not make this too long, but just wanna say that my current class is totally like ruiyong's one last time. It is really very xin ku to stay in such an environment for such long periods of time. Deceit is all over the place, with everybody literally backstabbing one another etc. But today, we learnt that deceitfulness is NOT kindness. Kindness in itself requires the element of truth. When one is hypocritical to others, he/she loses out both ways. The other party can never improve, and u feel at guilt for using bogus speech. Furthermore, u can never have a genuine relationship with that party. Kindness draws people to us, just as the kindness of Jesus drew us to Him.
I really want to build strong and bona fide friendships all around. It's God's calling for us as well.
yup. i pray that my kindness comes from my heart within! and not "faked out".

On goodness.
Think for me, goodness is really on doing it, i.e application.
Was reflecting, and actually realized that we know how to differentiate right from wrong, good from bad, in most things.
We really need to learn to overcome, to DO goodness, with the courage from God. It is not easy to wriggle out of the clutches of evil, especially when it flows within our carnal blood.
Doing what is wrong, is wrong.
Doing what is right, but with wrong motives, is also wrong.
To have the goodness of God, we must first go to the God of goodness.
i believe when we confess our inadequacies to God, and humble ourselves to pray, God will definitely do something to mould us to become more like Him.
Ask God to work his goodness in you!

ahahha special thanks to Ruiyong (hope i spelled it correctly) today for teaching us. could see that he was a quite tense, but he did the job well!
yup thanks ruiyong, i really learnt a lot from u, especially from the conviction and spirit that oozed out as u were sharing. Thank God for you!
Also not forgetting Suzhen, for her enriching lesson today as well, thanks sister! :)

PS: go and read the front part of the booklet, the prologue "being considerate". It encouraged me a lot. =)

Ok...Patience...Sumting i really gotta work on sia...OK!In our lifes,tend to get impatient with so many things around us...People being late, Things not going smoothly...Even minor things like computer's speed dun match our requirements( i admit =X),we tend to get impatient bout this stuffs...However God, wans us to be patient like him...What really strike mi is that how patient God is...sumtimes we tend to overlook it...But God is more patient den any1 has ever been..He has waited for us to know him for so many years...He never gave up on us..Have we waited that long ? If not what rights do we have to get angry, impatient over others or even lose hope in others?If God is impatient wif us...Who knows what we'll we doing wif our life now...Probably just rotting away sumwhere...Regardless of who , what , we should pray to God for patience whenever we feel its wearing thin...No1 is without hope...We Muz be patient we others , just like how patient God is wif us...All of us are imperfect,yet God Has so much patience on us...We should definitely be patient with others too...Therefore we should understand instead of complaining over people and circumstances =D...Also pray for the person and never give up regardless of anything =DD!

Kindness,its not bout speaking words of it,but rather more to it being in ur heart as well...Sometimes when we feel unhappy bout some people,Dun talk behind their back or flare up instantly , or rather known as gossiping...Rather go to em directly,it'll be alot easier to talk , less offensive and also not spread gossips...Also sumtimes...We may say stuffs...Which seems good, but however our heart motives are wrong...Therefore nidda check our heart motives before anything...Say and mean things to build people up...Not tear em down...I love the illustration he given...bout the Olympic thingy...Haha...In our daily lives...minor stuffs that happen...Use kind words and actions, it'll build ppl up too =D...Best way to is to apply WWJD =DD...Talk is cheap,Action is Deep...Do what is said , mean what u say =D...

Goodness...Why have goodness ? Remember how much is God's goodness towards u,Den naturally, we'll show goodness to others too =D...WE've also no rights to compare goodness,for what we compares is only HUMAN STANDARD,what bout GOD STANDARD?Also love tt funny illustration made by shuzhen bout how to react when people say unkind words bout us...haha...Pray first, be4 letting our sinful nature explode...Not being quick to react...Commit those 'problems' to God before reacting or coming to a conclusion...We got no rights to judge others,we're not perfect...Apply WWJD,and right response will come out of us...

Love

Love is obedience.normally when we dont obey, we find ourselves struggling. God provide us with the spirit to help us to grow and such areas cant be grown overnight.Its a gradual lifelong process.we dont just grow when we are students.but we grow continually no matter wad life stage we are at. God will also test you using various scenarios to see if u have really grown. in the john 15:1-5, we can learnt tt we must be CONNECTED to the vine(God).the devil will deceive us tt we are capable.a way to see if we are self relyin is we will start to be more spiritually dry as time passes.Love always pays a price coz its sacrificial.love is the most impt element in the fruit of the spirit as other elements may stand part of the fruit.the empty can is us and outside the can is the ppl ard us and our loved ones.God's love shd fill us and overflow in our heart tt the ppl ard us see God's love through us

Joy

Joy is not dependant on plesant situations.you can go through the toughest situation and yet have the joy of God in ur hearts.God is pleased with you when you greet ppl joyfully.never let the devil rob you of ur joy.dont dwell on the guilt of ur sin.if not,the joy wont be with you.we have true joy when serving God and others. we are a river and a channel of blessings where there is life goin on.responsibility doesnt rob away ur joy.responsibility is retainin ur old tasks and bringin in new ones.absense of sufferin doesnt produce true joy.we have a choice to be joyful no matter wad the situation.THANK GOD FOR GOD!!!pray for such situations so tt u can be more intimate with God.the burden of ministry and the ppl ard us may wear us down but God will sustain us.Amen!

Peace

Peace comes from being able to trust God tt he is in-charge and knows what he is doin.sometimes we dont know the reason for certain circumstances.God can see very far.its like he lives on the 12th storey and we live on the 1st.Commit all uur worries to God.Jesus didnt offer the worldly peace but the peace of God.God gives us authentic peace.we are fighting from victory, not for victory.if God is for us,who can be against us.know who is in-charge and ask boldly.ask God to give u peace in ur heart when going through tough situations.let the peace of God rule in our hearts.THANKIN GOD WILL EASE OUR ANXIOUSNESS because we know who God is.Peace isnt dependant on situations.dont be anxious abt anything coz we doubt tt he is in-charge.we can always be in situations beyong human control so we must present our requests and pray actively.

I think one thing struck me on Monday--that I can thank God for God.
One of my struggles is dwelling on things too much and being complaining and thinking that I have nothing to thank God for. So it really struck me that, hey, I can thank God for His character. His faithfulness, care and concern for me... LOVE
1. love is the first FOTS-the other 8 parts of the FOTS stem out from love
2. i personally agree very much with shuzhen's method of learning how to love ppl who annoy me a lot (eg. louis), which is to think WWJD
3. to love others, we need God's love to fill our hearts until it overflows to the surroundings
4. before i end off a message with agape love, i must make sure i love the person first.
(bryan: so if u've nv recieved any card that ends with agape love, means no one loves u)

JOY
1. A thankful and joyful person finds god easily
2. Do not dwell in guilt after i've repented. guilt robs us of our joy in god.
3. the absence of suffering does not produce true joy. if it were so, how do u explain the joy of a lady who had just given birth?

PEACE
1. having the peace of god is not to just sit around and do nothing. instead it's to keep praying
2. one thing we can be anxious abt- which is to thank god. when we thank god,it will help to remove my anxiety. because when we give thanks to god, we'll remember who god is at the same time
3. application: when i become anxious,just remember to give thanks!!

halloo! so cool to see so many ppl blogging! few days ago, God just spoke to me about LOVE and this word for life comes timely!

LOVE
it is not about trying by ourselves, but acknowledge that we lack and need God! sometimes when we keep trying w/o God, we feel the dryness then we give up! satan will have his way! i want to practise WWJD in my daily life, so that i can love people like how Jesus did or in an uniquely way!

JOY
when we start to place our joy in material things, we will just keep chasing it, and simply chasing NOTHING! waste of time! when things come crashing down onto me, i realised it's very difficult to rejoice, but if there's nothing to celebrate, i will celebrate His goodness in my life. so simple, yet always tends to forget! i want to learn to look to God more and serve Him more. because through all these, i will get unspeakable joy, joy that world cannot give. we find true joy in God and God takes delight in us too! the joy of the Lord shall be my strength! should make this motto in life, putting a smile on God's face.

PEACE
i think i gotta learnt that i need to know whose in charge and trust in what he's doing. imagine you are on a plane but the pilot don't know how to drive. of course you will be panic! but God knows how to drive a car, a plane, a bike. he knows the directions, he knows EVERYTHING! i want to learn to pray more actively and trust Him with all my heart, knowing that he knows what is best and OBEY Him even when circumstances aren't right!

its really easy to love those who're lovable, all the nicenice ppl luh (: lol! but when it comes to unlovable ppl (and we've all been unlovable before :D ) , its really hard. we need to love people with God's love, God's love is sacrificial love, unconditional love. if we do things on our own, we'll fail & face unnecessary pain & disappointments. but our BIG BIG GOD never fails! let's love with God, let's love for God!

joy, isn't pleasure, isn't material things.. etc. if we base our joy on worldly things, we'll just be chasing & chasing nothing. only God can fill our hearts & give us true joy. even if there's nothing else in e world to celebrate, celebrate God's goodness! :D let's have a thankful heart, for a grateful person will be able to find God easily, God is everywhere! let's serve God & others! be joyful & spread ur contagious joy from God to others around u!

the peace from God is not whad the world can give us. no miss universe's "world peace" , for as long as there's sin in e world, there wont be world peace. but u know whad? we're not fighting for victory but from victory! even in a chaotic situation, God can give us peace in our hearts when we trust that God is in charge (: God sure knows whad He's doing, He wont sabo us one luh! if we have any problems, let go & let God!

Its easy to love sum1 at a SHORT period of time,However,Love is a gradual process =D
Cuz so easy to love sum1 who is so good,treats us well...But when it comes to people who are not that good to us...so hard to love them...Sumtimes when people annoy us,Lets imply the WWJD method be4 reacting in any humanly ways =D

HAHAH alright!
Hmmm so today's lesson was really interesting. (:
I always thought of the fruit of the spirit to be aspects that have to be "achieved" one at a time.
Or rather, I always thought I needed to "max" myself in the area of love before I'm able to "level up" to joy. and so on. hahah! But yeah, growing in the fruit of the spirit is a lifelong process and we must be in touch with God as well~

Yeah I believe its really really hard to show unconditional love to people around. Especially when we don't allow the Holy Spirit to speak into our lives. For me, I tend to be kinda judgemental and all, thus whenever I notice someone's weaknesses, my level of love for this particular person would decrease by that bit. heheh. It sure is one area I need to grow in, afterall we all have weaknesses luh, hahah! and God loves me all the same despite my many flaws! More often than not I react to situations with accordance to how I feel, instead of asking myself WWJD despite knowing what it is. Hahah so yay one application point is to apply WWJD in my life, and err.. experience the guiding of the Holy Spirit! =D

and I'm one insecure person so I do worry alot. Many times I fix my eyes on my own capabilities and thus I become very anxious.. In exams, in life's challenges and all. So I haven't been experiencing much of God's peace within hahah. Today's lesson was timely. Hahah the best solution to everything is prayer. Wanna lead an actively praying lifestyle, constantly talking to God, instead of limiting my prayers to QTs and situations. Since Jesus offered peace to us as a free gift, hahah think it'd be quite dumb not to take luh! =)

today's wfl lesson was good. not just the word but also with practical helps. thank God for shuzhen. shall summarize what i learn here so it wouldnt be too wordy. ^^

Love
Best example of love is Jesus Himself. ( agape - unconditional/sacrificial love )
To understand that its not using our human strength to overcome but allowing God to fill us with more love. it wouldn't happen just over night but believe we'd grow daily to be more like Jesus. To have the fruit of the spirit in us, i learn that its not a short period but a lifelong process til we meet Jesus face to face.

Joy ( chara - greek )
True joy is only experienced through Jesus. A thankful/grateful man would find God easily. Joy is not dependant on situations & circumstances but on God. Remeber that we must guard against the devil to not rob us of our Joy in the Lord, in the bible God says too that whatever we do let's do it joyfully.
Q: do we start our day with Joy? / do we start our day by thanking God?

Peace ( eirene- peace of mind )
Peace come from being able to trust that God is in charge & knowing what He is doing. In the same way, God is able to see more than us, He knows more than us so the more we gotta entrust & let God deal with our anxieties. Of course its difficult to find peace in every situation but God promise us that ' peace I live with you, my peace I give you ' so let's not worry when chaotic moments come into our life. Amen?! i read a book called louder than words by andy stanley. its abt character & pursing Christlikeness is just saying 'God, i'm just doing what You called me to do. You got me into this. It's up to You to get me through it.'

APPLICATION:
-Pray for more love each day, to love people even if they're unlovable. To look at people through the eyes of Jesus. ( spiritual eyes. )
-To be thankful for everything. Even when i've nothing to thank for, i'd wanna thank God for His love in my life. ^^
-In chaotic times, entrust my anxieties to God & not settling it with my own strength. ^^

here to share what i've learn today! although this is the first day of WFL i've really learn alot about the class fruit of the spirit.. haha. yea, we learnt about LOVE,PEACE,JOY

i agree with what peiqing said. Love is all about obedience. if we love God, whatever task he calls us to do we would do it. and loving people comes naturally too. Love God Love People amen? hahah. and in times the satan would make us think we dont need God, since this problem is easy and we can handle it on our own.

and we ourself would also start thinking we dont need God in our life.. but that's WRONG! FROG! hah in every simple things in our life, we should include God in! and that's when we can hear God very easily. and we wont get spiritually dry easily.

i still remember the day i was taking my maths EOY paper. i was so anxious that i could not even think.but as i prayed through, i can really feel God's peace within me. and he promised he will be there to guild and help me through my paper. so when the results are out, i passed! yea God's peace is different from what the world gives (:

lastly! be it good or bad times,we should always present a thanksgiving heart unto God. for his ways are always higher than ours and he knows that the problem he gave us is what we can handle. but we must do it with him yea?

regarding today's lessons: Thank God for it! seriously, the lessons came on time. I was really depressed before i came to Nexus and was even on the point of leaving and forfeiting the whole course. Just because i was feeling very drained in four aspects: emotionally, mentally,physically and spiritually.(oops)But thank God i didn't :]

Kk, enough crap:] let's get on to the lesson reflections.

from the lessons, i've found out that the love is not something that can be given by ourselves. Its not called love, but empathy. It fades as time goes on. How can one love another person without feeling loved first? Only God's love is genuine, and everlasting! :] Only then can our cups be filled and overflowed, and then are we able to reach out to others around us.

Another very important lesson that i've finally seen one of my biggest flaws, and that is to actually forget about God in times of trouble and trying to fix things myself. Yea, whenever i panic, my mind goes a complete blank and i tend to focus on the problem itself and only see it from my own point of view. I don't lean back, and try to take things from another view, i just want things to end as quickly as possible and thats where i try to Push God outta the picture and do things my style. So that's why half of the time, i get stuck in so many problems, i cant find peace, and i constantly need others such as my shepherd to pull me outta the mess by reminding God's actually there to help:X (OOPS)

but the most important and crucial thing that i've learnt is to never dwell in guilt. yes, be guilty of the sins we make, but repent sincerely and move on. Lol. guess what? i doing things the opposite the whole time. yea i do repent sincerely, but i tend to dwell in my guilt for too long, especially if i've repeated the sin more than twice. And once it got so bad that i was really very upset about myself and was actually imagining the punishments that God would use on me . LOL really silly huh?

Hee hee i think i should stop here. Or i'll flood the whole blog :]

I shall start....
Today's lesson is on the three aspects: Love, Joy, Peace.

okayy..
I feel that no matter how hard we try to "squeeze out" love to the people around us. This kind of love will only fade off sooner or later.
Love for others will only come when God's love overflows from within us.
Only God's love is constant. AMEN! hahahah

Before, I always thought that God will only talk to me in the night when I'm doing quiet time.. zzzz.
BUT im utterly wrong.
It only got me further and further away from God.
I kept wondering why cant God appear in the day too??

So now..
To experience God's constant love, I've learnt to always communicate with God, I would like to call it a constant chat with God.
I've experienced much joy and love when I involve God in all the small little things that I do in my daily life, I think that joking with God is also a fun thing! =D

Because for some reason or another, God just loves to joke with me by making me stucked in some funny situations. -_-
Like when im in a rush, a SERIOUS rush, i ended up taking the bus in the wrong direction when i actually prayed for it to come.
In this case, God DID answer my prayer, fast enough.
I asked God, "WHY?!" and yeahh.. i understood. My test for peace in the heart has come.

Ya.. God can be funny. Just how u actually involve Him in ur lives.

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
